HOW KNOWING YOUR NUMBERS ARE THE KEY TO GROWING YOUR BUSINESS

The finances of your business are important, and not just so you can file your income tax return. Simply put, the numbers tell the story of your business. Paying attention to the numbers can be the advantage you need to grow your business. When you know and understand your numbers, you will find yourself making better decisions, which will lead to growth and bigger profits.

So how do you pay attention to those numbers exactly? First, it is important to understand the difference between income and profit. Income is the amount you make, while profit is the amount you keep. If you are making a lot of sales, that is only a part of the story. If the costs you incur while running your business are too high, the money you are making may be leaving your bank account as quickly as it is coming in. If you only pay attention to your income, you will not recognize when you are spending too much or when your business isn’t doing as wel...

All About Trello by Siobhan Niquette

Jul 12, 2020

Hi moms! My name is Siobhan (pronounced Shavon, but I respond to just about anything) and my husband and I live in central MA with our three kids and two dogs.

When we first moved back to Massachusetts in 2018, I was battling severe anxiety and depression. I was so hopeful that a fresh start closer to family would be the cure to what I called "overwhelm", that I joined a direct sales company the day after we moved in.

I had this vision of have a purpose and feeling fulfilled, and thought that gaining more financially would make that a reality.

What really happened was I just tossed another responsibility onto the pile. I was running this hamster wheel all day long, relying on caffeine and deadlines to get things done, but as the responsibilities would be tossed into my vision, it would smack me hard in the gut.

If you know that deep feeling in your gut when you have to just decide what to focus on for the minute, then this is for you.

Why I Love Waking Up at 5:30 a.m. by Christy Lingo

I never thought of myself as a morning person. And when my coach suggested I start waking up before my kids a few years back, I laughed at her. Turns out, she was right. I now relish the quiet way I am able to start my day my way.

How Waking Up Early Helps Me

When my coach suggested I wake up earlier than my kids to get things done, I thought she didn’t understand my mom life. I mean, getting up earlier means I have to go to bed earlier. And evenings are the only time ...

Getting Started

Jul 01, 2020
Hey there all you Small Business Moms!! I am so glad you are here!

Most of you that have been following our social media pages or Facebook group know that It has taken me a REALLY long time to get to this point... to launch this website. I let fear get in my way, but I am doing it today, and I want to let you all know why.

I started Small Business Moms because running a business with young children was one of the hardest things I have ever done. (See picture above lol)

When I started my boutique in 2016 I had the most supportive husband, family, friends, and community, but yet I still felt alone sometimes. I didn't realize how much I needed friends that were going through the same thing I was going through. I needed moms that were in the middle of all the chaos of raising babies and building businesses that could understand what I was going through. I wanted a community to help each other, build each other up, support one another, and cheer each other on during all the up...
